Job Description
Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, is currently accepting applications for a part‑time faculty position teaching 3D Animation. We seek an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who demonstrates professionalism, commitment to students, and the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach up to 2 courses in Animation per semester. Prepare course materials, syllabi; evaluate and grade student assignments.

Integrate the use of a learning management system (Blackboard Ultra) and other relevant new technology into instruction where applicable.

Teach a varied schedule of courses that may include day
ight, early morning, accelerated and virtual courses.

Apply culturally relevant pedagogies to the teaching and learning process.

Cultivate an inclusive and supportive learning environment that values and respects student diversity.

Bring real‑world industry experience into the classroom, sharing insights, case studies, and practical applications.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Animation or a related field.

Experience teaching courses at the college level.

Minimum 2 years professional experience working in Animation.

Professional industry experience in Animation.

Specialized experience with 3D character animation.

Willingness to incorporate current trends in new technology.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively mentor and advise students.

Proficiency in Adobe Software and Autodesk Maya Software.

Demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational environment.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.

Preferred Qualifications

Recent teaching experience at a college or university.

Teaching experience in Animation.

Experience with motion capture performance for animation.

Additional Requirements

Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location. If you do not have such a computer, notify the department chair at the time of interview. Subject to available funds, the College may be able to provide temporary access to resources.

Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable).

Location Requirement
Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity: DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA.
