Position Overview
As an Audio Technician at Edge Media DC, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality sound for live events, broadcasts, and productions. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio systems to ensure clarity, balance, and consistency across a variety of environments.

This role requires both technical expertise and adaptability, with the ability to manage live sound in fast-paced settings while collaborating closely with production teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and break down audio equipment for live events, church services, meetings, and productions, including mixers, microphones, speakers, monitors, and recording devices.

Conduct sound checks and system testing prior to events to ensure optimal audio performance.

Mix live audio, adjusting levels, EQ, and dynamics to maintain clarity and balance throughout events.

Troubleshoot and resolve audio issues quickly to minimize disruptions during live productions.

Collaborate with producers, videographers, and event organizers to understand audio needs and deliver tailored solutions.

Assist with the installation and configuration of audio systems in various venues.

Monitor audio feeds for live streams and recordings to ensure broadcast-quality sound.

Maintain and manage audio equipment inventory, including setup, storage, and basic repairs.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Audio Technician, Sound Engineer, or similar role, preferably in live events, broadcast, or production environments.

Strong knowledge of audio equipment, including digital and analog mixers, wireless microphone systems, PA systems, and signal flow.

Familiarity with audio software and systems such as Dante, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or similar platforms is a plus.

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure in live environments.

Understanding of acoustics, gain structure, and live mixing techniques.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality sound.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills when working with clients and production crews.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in audio engineering, music production, or a related field preferred.
