Job Overview
You will be a hands‑on production role for a visual storyteller who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. You'll bring client stories to life from concept development through filming, editing, motion graphics, color correction, and final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Video Production

Capture high‑quality video content for commercial, corporate, government, and digital marketing campaigns.

Lead or support all aspects of on‑location video production, including camera operation, lighting, audio recording, and directing on‑camera talent.

Make creative and technical decisions regarding camera systems, lenses, framing, composition, exposure, lighting, camera movement, and shot execution.

Operate professional cinema cameras, DSLR/mirrorless systems, drones (if certified), and camera support equipment including gimbals, sliders, jibs, tripods, and stabilizers.

Record high‑quality location audio using lavaliers, boom microphones, field mixers, and wireless systems.

Scout locations and evaluate production environments for lighting, logistics, and technical requirements.

Prepare, maintain, transport, and organize production equipment for shoots.

Pre‑Production

Collaborate with creative directors, producers, writers, designers, and clients to develop compelling visual concepts.

Assist in creative brainstorming sessions and provide recommendations for visual storytelling approaches.

Develop storyboards, shot lists, production schedules, interview questions, and production plans.

Ensure productions align with brand standards, client objectives, and campaign messaging.

Post‑Production

Edit engaging long‑form and short‑form video content for broadcast, web, social media, internal communications, and marketing campaigns.

Create polished edits incorporating interviews, b‑roll, graphics, sound design, and motion graphics.

Perform color correction, color grading, audio cleanup, mixing, and mastering.

Design and animate titles, lower thirds, transitions, and motion graphics using Adobe After Effects.

Export and optimize deliverables across multiple digital platforms and broadcast specifications.

Manage project files, media organization, backups, and version control throughout post‑production.

Photography

Capture professional still photography during productions, including corporate events, executive portraits, environmental portraits, and marketing imagery.

Edit and retouch photography for digital, print, and social media applications.

Collaboration & Project Management

Manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced agency environment.

Communicate effectively with internal creative teams, project managers, account managers, and clients throughout the production lifecycle.

Present creative ideas and production recommendations during planning meetings.

Stay current on emerging production technologies, camera systems, editing techniques, AI‑assisted workflows, and industry best practices.

Support production on large‑scale federal and commercial contracts with professionalism and attention to detail.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of professional videography and video editing experience in an agency, production company, in‑house creative team, or similar environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Film, Video Production, Multimedia, Communications, Graphic Design, Journalism, Photography, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Demonstrated experience managing productions from concept through final delivery.

Expert‑level proficiency with:

Adobe Premiere Pro

Adobe After Effects

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Lightroom

Adobe Media Encoder

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe InDesign

Strong understanding of video codecs, frame rates, color spaces, compression, and digital delivery standards.

Experience operating professional camera systems from manufacturers such as Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, RED, or Panasonic.

Advanced knowledge of lighting techniques for interviews, documentaries, promotional videos, and corporate productions.

Strong understanding of audio recording and post‑production workflows.

Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional quality.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, executives, production crews, and talent.

Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Fitness Determination.

Preferred Skills And Experience

Experience supporting federal government communications or government contracting environments.

FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification.

Experience with live event production and livestreaming.

Motion graphics and animation experience.

Experience with DaVinci Resolve color grading workflows.

Familiarity with AI‑assisted editing and creative production tools.

Still photography experience, including event coverage and executive portraiture.

Experience producing content optimized for YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and emerging social platforms.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area and throughout the United States.

Approximately 40–80 production days per year, with overnight travel on many shoots up to 14–16 days.

Ability to transport and operate professional production equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
