Public Relations Intern

Overview The PR Intern will support Rancher Hat Bar's Public Relations and Brand Partnerships efforts by assisting with media outreach, influencer relations, event publicity, and brand communications. This internship provides hands‑on experience working with one of the fastest‑growing retail brands while learning the fundamentals of public relations, media strategy, and brand marketing. This is a part‑time internship reporting directly to the PR & Marketing Department.
Primary Responsibilities Media Relations Assist in researching and building media contact lists.
Draft media pitches, press releases, and media advisories.
Help coordinate interviews and media opportunities.
Monitor media coverage and compile press reports.
Maintain an organized media database.
Public Relations Assist with the planning and execution of PR campaigns.
Research local and national media opportunities.
Help identify award submissions, speaking engagements, and publicity opportunities.
Assist in preparing press kits and media materials.
Support communication surrounding new store openings, product launches, and company announcements.
Influencer & Brand Partnerships Research influencers, creators, and brand partnership opportunities.
Assist with influencer outreach and communication.
Coordinate product gifting and partnership logistics.
Track influencer campaigns and compile performance reports.
Maintain partnership records and outreach spreadsheets.
Event Support Assist with PR efforts surrounding grand openings, rodeos, pop‑ups, corporate events, and community activations.
Help coordinate media attendance at events.
Support event logistics as needed.
Administrative Support Maintain organized PR files, reports, and spreadsheets.
Assist with project timelines and campaign tracking.
Conduct market and competitor research.
Complete additional administrative and marketing projects as assigned.
Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organization and attention to detail.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Familiarity with social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest.
Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
Positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications Experience writing for school publications, blogs, or social media.
Interest in fashion, retail, western lifestyle, or consumer brands.
Photography, videography, or graphic design experience is a plus.
