Youth and Young Adults Social Media Specialist
This full-time position creates social media content and other creative communication that helps students, young adults, parents, and volunteers stay connected. This full-time role primarily focuses on social media, content creation, and digital storytelling for YouthCrossing and Young Adults. This position also helps create communication pieces such as emails, postcards, graphics, and other ministry updates as needed. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, relational, and comfortable capturing photo and video content in live ministry environments. This position works closely with YouthCrossing team, Young Adults team, and The Crossing’s Creative and Communications teams to ensure ministry content is clear, creative, consistent, and aligned across digital and print platforms.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Manage YouthCrossing and Young Adults social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms as needed

Create and manage a monthly content calendar for social media and key communication needs

Capture photo and video content at weekly YouthCrossing gatherings, Young Adults gatherings, major events such as summer camp and winter retreat, baptism, and other ministry moments

Create short‑form videos, graphics, photos, captions, emails, postcards, and other communication pieces for ministry use

Develop content that helps students and young adults engage with ministry throughout the week and helps parents stay connected to what is happening in YouthCrossing & Young Adults

Work with the Youth team, Young Adults team, and other staff to identify stories, highlights, upcoming opportunities, and key moments worth sharing

Write and schedule regular parent emails with clear information about upcoming events, important dates, registrations, serving opportunities, and ministry updates

Assist in creating a cohesive communication strategy for YouthCrossing and Young Adults across campuses and ministries

Recruit, train, and coordinate a volunteer content team made up of students, young adults, and adults who can assist with photo, video, stories, and social media engagement

Equip campus Youth staff, Young Adults leaders, and volunteers with basic tools, templates, and best practices for capturing usable photo and video content

Partner with The Crossing’s Communications Department on broader church communication projects, including content capture, design, scheduling, copywriting, and other creative communication needs as assigned

Attend weekly YouthCrossing gatherings, Young Adults gatherings, and key ministry events throughout the year

Other staff duties as assigned by the Leadership team

Ability to create engaging photo, video, graphic, and written content for digital and print communication

Experience creating short‑form video content for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shoots

Knowledge of Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or similar applications is preferred

Basic understanding of social media engagement, trends, and best practices is preferred

Education/Training and Certificates

High School Diploma or greater

Additional training or experience in communications, social media, marketing, design, video production, ministry, or a related field is preferred
