Primary Purpose:
The Multimedia Technician II position is a member of the Institute for Learning’s Multimedia, Technologies & Event Support Team. Under the direction of the team lead, this position will be responsible for fulfilling the responsibilities of the Multimedia Technician I position which is to provide technical and operational support for video conferencing, audio/visual (AV) equipment maintenance, and presentation system support for ARUP. Additionally, this position under the direction of the team lead is responsible for providing technical & creative audio and video productions for a wide range of multimedia products and services.
Essential Functions
Maintain and support corporate conference room AV hardware, including cameras, microphones, etc.
Provide AV support for meetings, events, and presentations, primarily located on
ear the ARUP Laboratories main campus, with occasional travel to ARUP facilities located in Salt Lake County.
Provide support, training, troubleshooting and testing for collaboration tools such as MS Teams and Zoom, and videoconferencing audiovisual equipment such as projection systems, displays, cameras, microphones, and integrated AV systems.
Provide support for ARUP corporate conference room scheduling, using Microsoft Outlook.
Address and troubleshoot customer issues received via helpdesk, email, and phone, as well as through monitoring tools, for videoconferencing endpoints, infrastructure, integrated AV systems and networks.
Respond to troubleshooting situations in an efficient, calm manner and provide direct client support in a timely fashion.
Consult with staff to determine AV and multimedia equipment needs for small to medium sized events.
Responsible for ensuring equipment is properly inventoried and tracked.
Document incidents, including opening case, updating with status and timely closure.
Coordinate and schedule equipment testing and pre-checks in advance of high visibility events.
Provide basic support for Crestron systems and components.
Collaborate and assist in the production of video and audio of live events, short media productions, podcasts, and training videos, for delivery to digital media sites, social media platforms, or a learning management system.
Perform all aspects of audio recording, mixing, editing, rendering, and publishing.
Perform all aspects of video recording, editing, rendering, and publishing.
Assist in recording in a studio setting or in the field.
Set up and operate video and audio production equipment for in-studio or conference room productions (e.g., interviews, lectures, meetings).
Recognize and troubleshoot audio/video problems for both live and recorded productions.
Coordinate with third party AV companies with installation, repair, and maintenance of all conference room systems.

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicate with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Light Work: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent or better.
Experience
Two (2) years of related experience, including camera operation, studio and location lighting for video, video and audio recording, and editing.
Knowledge of event sound setup, video and audio recording and editing, mixers, amplifiers, speakers, microphones, video projectors.
Knowledge and experience with web-based video conferencing tools, such as WebEx and Microsoft Teams.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects software.
Project, assignment, and request management skills.
Ability to work with a team and meet deadlines.
Preferred
Experience with designing and creating online learning with common authoring software (e.g., Adobe Captivate or similar).
Experience with MS Office Suite.
Experience working autonomously without supervision.
