Overview WLUK/WCWF has an immediate opening for a creative Good Day Wisconsin Producer. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts. This position will also work closely with the Executive Producer, Directors, Content Manager and Anchors on the newscast and its content. In this position you will determine the content and flow of newscasts, work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories and develop content for our website.

Responsibilities

Determine the content and flow of newscasts and work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories and develop content for the website.

Collaborate with the Executive Producer, Directors, Content Manager and Anchors on the newscast and its content.

Oversee day-to-day production of newscasts in coordination with the newsroom team.

Qualifications

Solid news judgment.

Strong writing ability to produce compelling and accurate stories.

Ability to multitask and manage time to assemble an exciting and informative newscast.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts.

Flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency with non-linear editing (e.g., Avid) and newsroom systems such as iNews.

Experience

Must have at least some previous news-producing experience at a commercial TV station, though a qualified entry-level candidate may be considered.

A journalism degree is preferred.
