RADIO-TELEVISION SERVICES (BL-RTVS-IUBLA)
WFIU Radio and WTIU TV seek a journalist with at least 1 year experience to join their converged newsroom.

Department‑Specific Responsibilities

Report on several community and regional stories.

Contribute to the news bureau's online presence and shoot and edit videos.

Generate news stories for radio, TV, and the web.

Conduct research, schedule interviews, and write stories.

Use audio and/or video equipment to cover events for daily news coverage.

Education

Bachelor's degree (or degree in progress) in journalism, telecommunication, or related field

Work Experience

1 year of experience in a broadcast and/or journalism field

Licenses and Certificates

Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University

Skills

In-depth understanding of journalistic principles, particularly as they apply to public media

Hands‑on experience in writing, reporting, editing, production and on‑air delivery in radio, TV and for the web

Ability to produce a television or radio news story from conception to broadcast

Experience working with multi‑platform technologies and the ability to adapt material to a variety of platforms while adhering to AP style guidelines

Ability to function in a fast‑paced 24/7/365 news environment

Must be available to work some evenings and weekends on short notice.
