Job Summary

Responsibilities

Lead local news coverage and drive community-informed stories.

Determine which stories should air and when.

Collaborate with colleagues to design newscasts and broadcast schedules.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Television news – 2+ years.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of social media platforms and basic editing skills (Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro).

Skills: Go-getter personality, excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover important stories in your neighborhood.

Schedule: Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of general office software, newsroom software, and basic non-linear editing systems.

May be required to lift up to five pounds.

Working Conditions

Works primarily inside a climate-controlled environment throughout the year but might be assigned field duties on occasion.

Semi-noisy newsroom setting.

Benefits
The base pay for this position generally is between $55,000.00 and $105,400.00. Additional incentive-based compensation such as bonuses may be available. Spectrum offers a comprehensive pay and benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, and other employee benefits.
