Posting Number S15155P. Working Title: Sr. Marketing and Public Relations Professional. Department: CAES-Tifton Conf Center. Location: Tifton Area. This position is classified as Marketing Communications Professional III, FLSA Exempt, and is full-time. Schedule varies based on events and may include weekends and early mornings or late nights.

Responsibilities

Marketing and Event Coordination for the Conference Center: perform market research and collaborate with the Center Director and UGA CAES to develop and implement cohesive marketing and event promotion plans.

Support the Center Director in all aspects of marketing and event coordination by identifying, recruiting, and securing potential clients for conferences, meetings, and special events.

Conduct outreach to prospective clients for marketing and event recruitment purposes.

Engage in marketing, outreach, and promotional activities to increase awareness of the Conference Center and drive interest in hosted events and services.

Meet with clients to advise on available promotions, event packages, space options, and support services offered by the Conference Center.

Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of events (conferences, workshops, meetings, and special functions), ensuring client needs and institutional standards are met.

Collaborate with the local tourism board and Chamber of Commerce to promote the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center and its events to industry partners and the local community.

Compile, maintain, and manage client mailing and email databases to support targeted marketing campaigns and event outreach efforts.

Supervisory Duties

Training of new conference planners

Supervising conference planners

Perform annual evaluations of conference planners

Contract Negotiation

Consult with vendors in negotiating contracts, budget management, and business recaps

Participate in leadership conference planning committees and meetings

Coordinate onsite management of highly complex events

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience.
