Your role and responsibilities
Iterate on and deliver high-quality user experience designs for the IBM Quantum Platform, including productive use, learning, and documentation experiences, and provide UX support for the IBM Quantum website.
Develop user flows and mockups (low to high fidelity) using and expanding upon the Carbon Design System and its application across existing IBM Quantum products.
Communicate with key stakeholders across disciplines to identify user needs, design requirements, and development constraints.
Present and review user flows and designs with key stakeholders across disciplines, using effective storytelling to communicate user pain points and defend design decisions.
Apply research insights via partnership with the design research team to improve the product experience and meet user needs.
Partner with the development team to deliver accurate and useful interfaces.
Collaborate with visual designers and developers to ensure consistency and accessibility of designs throughout the handover, review, and release processes.

Required technical and professional expertise
Strong experience with designing human-centered experiences for web interfaces.
Strong experience with converging and translating technological, operational, and functional constraints into human-centered opportunities that enhance the overall user experience.
Strong experience in designing interaction patterns that prioritize user needs alongside business objectives, including pathways of navigation through an experience and applying knowledge of user behavior and research to achieve desired outcomes.
Experience partnering with design, product development, and research to define user experience goals and requirements for upcoming projects.
Experience using Figma and the Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) to create user flows, mockups (low to high fidelity), and other design assets.
Experience reviewing mockups with end users and stakeholders to validate design direction and feasibility.
Preferred technical and professional experience
Experience working with AI tools for design, or integrating AI tools into a design workflow.
Competent to strong visual design skills, including a firm grasp of responsive behavior and best practices for accessibility.
Experience working on highly complex or technical digital platforms or tools, especially ones with a user base of researchers and/or developers.
Good organization and time management skills, with the ability to work with tight deadlines and on multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with the Carbon design system and/or IBM Design language.
