The Senior Public Relations Manager leads QTS’s public and analyst relations efforts to enhance the company’s brand and reputation. In‑house, the role works closely with marketing operations, public policy, and agencies to create and promote the corporate identity and mission to the public, prospects, and customers. The manager serves as the company’s liaison, responding to inquiries from the press and managing media relations.
Responsibilities Develop and implement data‑driven public relations strategies that align with QTS’s overall goals.
Create and lead public relations content across multiple channels, including press releases, media advisories, website updates, company statements, FAQs, and media briefing books.
Lead the development of a proactive narrative and proof points at national and community levels to support PR strategies.
Develop and implement go‑to‑market plans that advance key messages and guide stakeholder engagement, including earned and paid media plans for data center roll‑outs in the U.S. and Europe.
Execute analyst relations strategy by providing information about QTS’s services to industry analysts, external agencies, and vendors.
Serve as the QTS point of contact in company interviews, briefings, events, and other public‑facing opportunities.
Manage national and local media relations, pitching stories and responding to inquiries from reporters and journalists.
Support the development and launch of recruitment and employer brand campaigns.
Support executive communications and visibility plans as needed.
Develop and execute crisis communication plans and provide strategic counsel on crisis response.
Track and report data findings on industry news, market activities, competitive practices, and client surveys to identify opportunities and inform positioning.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure consistency in messaging and branding for proactive and ongoing communications and crisis response.
Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including Blackstone, industry analysts, thought leaders, influencers, partners, press contacts, and customers.
Monitor, analyze, and report on key metrics related to media and analyst coverage, sentiment, and influence.
Promote and attend special events and corporate milestones as needed.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience. 7+ years of experience in public/media relations or community engagement. Excellent oral and written communication with strong media relations skills, AP style proficiency, and the ability to create compelling public content.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the technology or data center industry; experience counseling clients or internal stakeholders on PR strategy; experience with PR and earned media software (Cision).
Skills & Abilities Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to report on key metrics and insights to leaders.
Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously.
Knowledge of crisis communication best practices.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface across all levels of the organization.
Highly organized, detail oriented, and capable of working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment.
Strong service and support orientation; enthusiastic, positive team player.
