On-Campus Multiplatform Video Producer/Editor (MVPE)

Position based in Iowa City, IA, reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital at the Big Ten Network.
Responsibilities

Create and deliver year‑round Iowa Athletics video content for BTN’s social, digital and broadcast channels.
Collaborate with Senior Manager, Digital, and Content Coordinators to produce video content for digital and social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube).
Use sound editorial judgement and BTN/Iowa viewer trends to produce content/highlights to serve an Iowa audience.
Drive day‑to‑day content collaboration with the Iowa Athletics Department (Communications, Social Media, and Video Teams).
Shoot, edit, and produce long‑form storytelling content for BTN’s Crossover Franchise series, including At The Net, On The Pitch, On The Beam, On The Mat, On The Court, and At The Plate.
Shoot, edit, and deliver content from live sporting events.
Perform pre/post video production optimized for social media sharing.
Ensure all content aligns with brand standards – consistent in style, quality, and voice.
Cover real‑time breaking Iowa Athletics news.
Occasionally execute duties of field producer on ENG shoots.
Manage video inventory and share assets with key internal stakeholders.
Qualifications

1+ years of experience producing custom digital video content.
Extensive knowledge of digital video production and content management systems.
Extensive knowledge of culturally relevant Iowa Athletics, Big Ten Athletics, and pop culture.
Familiarity with Big Ten Network’s programming, talent, and brand initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to shoot video content at sporting events.
Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback to others and accept feedback for your own performance.
Proactive, takes initiative, meets strategic deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Ability to create and produce compelling stories; generate and execute ideas from concept to execution.
Proficiency with technology platforms and graphic design software packages (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, 3D Software).
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and project management skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Bachelor’s degree in digital media production preferred or equivalent experience (nice to have).
Benefits

Pay rate/range: $19.50–23.00 per hour for all other US locations; $23.50–27.89 per hour for high‑cost labor markets such as New York City and Los Angeles. Eligible for medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits. Union employees receive benefits per collective bargaining agreement in accordance with applicable plan documents.
