MarketWatch is seeking a Data & Visuals Journalist to uncover stories in data and bring them to life through compelling visual journalism. This role sits at the intersection of reporting, analysis and visual storytelling. The ideal candidate is as comfortable digging through datasets as they are creating charts, graphics, and visual explainers that help readers understand what matters and why. We are not looking for someone who simply visualizes data supplied by others. We are looking for a journalist who independently identifies compelling stories from the jobs report or a public filing or research report and uncovers trends and develops original reporting rooted in data. The strongest candidates will bring curiosity, strong news instincts, and a passion for helping readers better visualize money, markets, and the economy.
