Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for taking digital photographs of vehicles and uploading the images to the company website to support online sales. The role involves staging, operating digital cameras and related image processing equipment to produce quality images of auctioned vehicles for reproduction in vehicle condition reports. Photographs must be consistent with applicable imaging procedures and quality standards. Work may be performed in an outdoor or indoor production environment depending on location and tasks.
Key Responsibilities

Set up and maintain the auction site image booth and/or standard imaging area in accordance with standards.
Set up lighting and operate camera and ancillary equipment to capture vehicle interior and exterior images, meeting requirements for focus, clarity, aspect/angles, storage, and related quality.
Transfer completed images into vehicle condition report format.
Adjust and enhance digital images to meet or exceed quality standards.
Ensure cameras and other imaging equipment is properly maintained and stored.
Take digital photographs of vehicles for condition reports and upload them to the company website.
Ensure that all standard required photos are taken and uploaded.
Perform self-audits to ensure images meet required quality standards.
Set up, troubleshoot, and resolve technical/equipment issues.
Maintain current awareness of imaging trends and technology advancements.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Solid knowledge of and comfort with operation of digital cameras (Ricoh or Samsung Galaxy preferred), including knowledge of camera focus, field depth, etc.
Knowledge of and experience with arranging lighting to produce quality photographs.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, photography software, internet savvy).
Good technical/equipment troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Generally, less than 2 years’ experience in a related field.
Previous experience in a detail shop or buffing experience helpful.
Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
Medium strength: ability to lift 1‑30 pounds.
Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks.
Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
Occasional exposure to outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, electrical shock hazard and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Preferred: 1‑2 years of digital photography experience.
A portfolio may be requested as part of the selection process.

To be employed in this role, you’ll need to clear a pre‑employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre‑employment drug test for marijuana for this position.
