Responsibilities
- Assist Producers with the development and execution of live and recorded newscasts.
- Write, edit, and format scripts for broadcast and digital platforms in a clear and concise manner.
- Coordinate live shots, field crews, and remote elements to ensure seamless execution.
- Monitor scanners, wires, social media, and internal systems for breaking news opportunities.
- Maintain awareness of local, national, and international news stories.
- Build graphics, lower thirds, and other visual elements using newsroom systems.
- Ensure content adheres to journalistic standards, legal requirements, and CMG editorial guidelines.
- Support Producers and control room staff during live broadcasts, including timing and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Strong broadcast writing and editorial skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with newsroom systems (e.g., ENPS, iNews) and digital platforms.
- Working knowledge of AP style and broadcast standards.
- Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple teams in a dynamic newsroom environment.
