Overview
We are seeking a Technical Producer to join our growing Project Delivery team. This is a full‑time, fixed‑term position through the end of 2026, with the possibility of extension. Preferred location is the East Coast; candidates from the United States are encouraged to apply.

Description Of Role
The Technical Producer will oversee the design and development of new digital, video, and written content for a major client, supporting guest experience through content management systems and tools for demonstrations, events, and event spaces. The role supports experiential installations as part of overall project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate project meetings, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, monitor completion of agreed action items and project plan tasks, and maintain and monitor project costs and risks.

Schedule all vendors to meet overall project deadlines associated with commissioning and first day of business, adapting schedules as required.

Support teammates in managing projects with content and technology deliverables.

Track platform product releases and coordinate deployment activities.

Coordinate dependencies among multiple teams designing, delivering, and supporting products and projects.

Provide end‑to‑end project leadership for successful design and delivery of experiential installations within client event and experience spaces.

Serve as technical subject‑matter expert on experiential activations, including custom and off‑the‑shelf software, cloud solutions, networking, security, privacy, compliance, hardware, and software components of creative technology.

Manage, coordinate, and oversee on‑site installation and management of external vendor‑provided components.

Ensure technical design intent is properly developed, refined, documented, and fulfilled from concept through handover through design and production meetings, site visits, and deliverable reviews.

Translate client needs, identify, plug, or elevate gaps, conflicts, and misalignments.

Work with stakeholders to manage budgets for equipment, content, and development, owning the budget through design to close‑out.

Review deliverables and provide feedback, flagging technical, financial, schedule, and experiential risks.

Develop approval and acceptance criteria and document key stakeholder approvals throughout the project timeline.

Manage vendors in the development of design and production schedules, integrating key integration milestones into the master project schedule.

Work with content creators and software developers to manage development of media, interactive content, and control interfaces.

Oversee specialty fabrication vendors' development of shop drawings and production of installations for field placement.

Coordinate with AV integrators, client infrastructure, and project management teams to ensure technical requirements are understood and delivered.

Participate in prototype reviews and play‑testing to track and manage expression of design intent, monitor, and pursue preliminary acceptances or rejections.

Oversee commissioning and handover of space, software, content, and activations.

Work with the client’s AV and operations teams, and external design agencies to develop lifecycle and maintenance strategy, including service level agreements.

Support development of Charcoalblue’s services by contributing to production process documentation.

Essential Skills

Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.

At least five (5) years of relevant experience in Technical Production, Design Management, or Project Management in experiential services or related fields.

Experience in exhibit design, architecture, or experiential design within themed entertainment, museums, creative/advertising agencies, or related fields.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.

Desirable Skills

Familiarity with API use, open source/shared protocols, web‑based applications, object‑oriented development, software frameworks and platforms, UI/UX design, network architecture, cloud‑based data management, and programming languages such as HTML, C++, and Java.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment with self‑motivation and initiative.

Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management techniques.

Working knowledge of product life cycles, software and content development cycles, design and construction project life cycles.

Familiarity with typical project management tools for scheduling, risk tracking, budgeting, etc.

Experience managing design and delivery processes for physical installations and digital content.

Direct experience with iterative design processes, rapid prototyping, and play‑testing.

Fundamental understanding of show control system design and approach.

Ability to read and comprehend technical documents including AV system drawings, engineering and architectural drawings, software architecture diagrams, wiring schematics, schedules, test reports, or commissioning documents.

Interpersonal Skills

Work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment with flexibility, self‑motivation, and initiative.

Detail‑oriented with the ability to plan, execute, and manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.

Calm and effective under pressure.

Build relationships with colleagues, clients, vendors, stakeholders, and management.

Working Hours
The role is at‑will, non‑exempt, 40 hours per week; candidates may request 32 hours per week by indicating in application. Working hours may vary to meet project demands and support global time zones, with patterns agreed between candidate and line manager.

Location
Distributed hybrid model; work from home or other location. Travel within the US and occasional international travel for projects or team building is required. Travel to external meetings and US studios may be required with notice. Preference for candidates in New York Metro area, East Coast US, or willing to align with Eastern Time.

Leave
Take‑What‑You‑Need leave: no cap on days per year; use of leave is encouraged with a minimum of 15 paid days per year, plus federal and local public holidays. Charcoalblue typically closes studios between Christmas and New Year’s Day; employees receive an additional 4–5 discretionary paid vacation days each year.
