The base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $269,000. The position may be eligible for a role‑specific discretionary bonus, relocation, and/or other compensation elements. This role is based on‑site at our Ridgefield, CT location with hybrid flexibility of 2‑3 days per week on‑site.

The Senior Associate Director, Internal Consulting serves as an internal consultant to manage and lead large-scale, highly complex, strategic, innovative, transformational, and performance‑enhancement programs and projects across multiple functional areas.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strong influence on strategic direction of the project, presenting recommendations to senior leadership (CMC, HPLT, TALT)

Contributes to and influences senior management decision‑making, coordination, and liaison with multiple business areas

Ensures that the team has all relevant internal and external context, using extensive business judgment and political sensitivity to develop recommendations

Oversees strategic management consulting together with stakeholder and sponsor management across all project stages, ensuring full alignment between ongoing strategic consulting projects and the overall US HP Strategy

Assists with and co‑develops key internal IC processes, such as case study development, knowledge management, training, and capability, playbook, and toolkit development

Cultivates a pipeline of prioritized projects that are aligned to the CMC and HPLT priorities by serving as a trusted liaison to senior leaders and partnering to identify future needs

Scopes individual engagements by defining objectives, required deliverables, resource needs, timelines, and budgets, as appropriate

Contributes to prioritization and resourcing decisions for proposed projects, ensuring strategic relevance for Boehringer and alignment with US business priorities

Serves as a resource to guide business sponsors to appropriate external support when required

Identifies and raises risks with clearly proposed solutions/actions to project and leadership teams to ensure success and garner support for changes in scope, schedule, or budget

Develops, in conjunction with cross‑functional stakeholders/groups, a change‑management and communications plan as appropriate for each project to assist with implementation

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred

Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in finance, commercial, or business development focused on project planning & leading strategic initiatives in the pharmaceutical, life sciences consulting, and/or management consulting industry

Three-plus (3+) years of project management experience required

Management consulting experience preferred

Well‑developed strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills

Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources

Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a highly matrixed organization

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience with agile ways of working

Proficiency in MS Office required; demonstrated ability to build high‑impact PowerPoint slides preferred

Ability to travel (may include overnight travel)
