Nexstar Media Group Inc. is hiring: News Anchor/Reporter in El Paso

The News Anchor Reporter serves as the primary presenter of news stories and other content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers. The role includes producing content for TV, internet, mobile, and other platforms; working with management to develop stories daily; demonstrating compelling storytelling through live shots, stand-ups, creative graphics, and use of digital and social media; organizing material, determining angle or emphasis, and writing stories according to prescribed editorial style and format standards; gathering and verifying information through interview, observation, and research; building a network of sources to keep the Company ahead of its competitors; and performing special projects and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities Produce news content for multiple platforms, including TV, internet, and mobile.
Collaborate with management to develop daily stories.
Demonstrate compelling storytelling using dynamic live shots, stand‑ups, creative graphics, and digital/social media.
Organize material, determine angles, and write stories according to editorial style and format standards.
Gather and verify information through interviews, observation, and research.
Build and maintain a network of sources to provide timely information.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Communication/Journalism or a related field (equivalent years of experience may substitute for education).
Three (3) years of television anchoring or reporting experience.
Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation.
Strong reporting skills.
Understanding of the importance of social media.
Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and organizational skills.
Promotes teamwork and maintains a cooperative attitude with all station personnel.
Ability to operate newsroom computer systems.
