Overview
The press intern will work closely with the communications team. Applicants should be organized, creative, familiar with current events, and detail oriented.
Responsibilities
Answering telephones
Leading Capitol tours
Compiling daily press clips
Creating content for social media
Drafting press releases, newsletters, and other written materials
Maintaining press lists
Clipping floor and hearing remarks
Designing graphics
Qualifications
Strong writing and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple competing tasks
Strong sense of professionalism and solid work ethic
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Relevant communications skills such as graphic design, social media, and video editing experience (preferred)
District ties are a plus
Diverse and bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
