We’re seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Weather Anchor to join our top-rated AM Live and Midday teams. This person will be responsible for producing and presenting accurate, engaging forecasts with a focus on how the weather impacts our viewers. The successful candidate will embrace new technology, excel at severe weather coverage for linear and digital platforms, and thrive in a team setting.

Responsibilities

Produce and present accurate weather forecasts for on-air broadcasts across AM Live and Midday segments.

Deliver weather information with clarity for viewers, including during breaking news and severe weather events.

Utilize computer model data to generate reliable forecasts and interpret meteorological information.

Develop and produce weather graphics to support on-air content.

Collaborate with production and other reporters to integrate weather coverage across television, digital, and streaming platforms.

Communicate weather impacts effectively, including during emergencies or unusual conditions.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Ability to analyze weather information and identify important atmospheric events

Skilled in using computer model data to produce accurate forecasts

Confidence delivering weather, fire, and earthquake information live on the air, including during emergency situations

Proficient in producing weather graphics

Three years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

Meteorology degree or certificate

Knowledge of Dalet and weather software

Education

Required Education: Bachelor of Science degree

Preferred Education

Degree in Meteorology or associated geoscience

Benefits / Additional Information
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between SAG-AFTRA and KFSN-TV. The pay rate for this role in Fresno, California is $36.06 to $50.48 per hour. The pay rate actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The role also has potential for additional compensation for overtime and early morning/overnight shifts.
