Position Information
Under general supervision, the Marketing and Communications Specialist supports marketing, digital communications, social media, multimedia content, website updates, email communications, event promotion, event support, and brand-aligned materials for CE-CERT and related BCOE research, academic programs, outreach, recruitment, and engagement initiatives. The incumbent works with CE-CERT faculty, staff, students, research groups, BCOE departments, research centers, and campus partners to gather content and prepare communications for programs, events, campaigns, research highlights, student success stories, partnerships, and special initiatives.

The position creates and schedules social media content, captures and edits photos and short-form video, designs basic digital and print materials, supports email campaigns and newsletters, updates website content, assists with event communications and day-of-event needs, maintains content calendars, and tracks basic engagement metrics.

For full consideration, applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, and three samples of relevant digital marketing and communications work with their application. Samples should be pulled from one or more of the following areas: web or digital content, social media or multimedia content, email campaigns, marketing campaign materials, or promotional graphics. For each sample, applicants should include a brief description identifying the purpose of the piece or campaign, their specific role in creating it, the tools or platforms used, and the intended audience or channel. For example, applicants may note whether they wrote copy, designed graphics, photographed, filmed, edited video, built an email campaign, posted social media content, updated web content, or coordinated the project. Finalists may be required to submit additional work samples and/or presentation materials as part of the interview process.

The full salary range for the Marketing and Communications Specialist is $27.63 - $47.56 per hour. However, the budgeted salary range is $27.63 - $35.97 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time.
