Multimedia Journalist/Traffic Reporter - WSMV

WSMV4 in Nashville is looking for a dynamic multimedia journalist/traffic reporter. This dual-role position requires a self-starter who can gather and produce compelling news content in the field during the day, then transition seamlessly to the set to deliver afternoon traffic reports.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Field Reporting: - Develop and pitch unique enterprise stories daily - Shoot, write, edit, and present compelling stories, either solo or with a photographer - Optimize story presentation for each WSMV news platform - Participate in daily editorial decisions
Traffic Reporting: - Anchor live traffic segments during our afternoon newscasts from the set - Adapt quickly to breaking traffic incidents and update information in real time across platforms - Maintain a professional, polished on-air presence and develop a strong rapport with viewers
Qualifications/Requirements:
At least two years of experience as a multimedia journalist - Strong writing skills and editorial judgment - Ability to shoot and edit on deadline - Ability to multitask and pivot quickly between field and studio roles - Strong understanding of digital and social platforms - Clean Driving Record - Four-year college degree
