Managing Director – Geospatial Technologies

As Managing Director – Geospatial Technologies, you will build and lead AARC Group's national Geospatial Technologies practice. This executive leadership role is responsible for developing strategy, growing revenue, overseeing technology investments, building a Houston-based geospatial team, and creating the AARC Approved Geospatial Partner Network to support more than 5000 existing clients and future national expansion.

Develop and execute the strategic plan for AARC's Geospatial Technologies practice.
Establish annual revenue, staffing, technology, and profitability objectives.
Lead and mentor Houston-based Drone Operations Specialists, GIS/LiDAR professionals, and future managers.
Build and oversee the AARC Approved Geospatial Partner Network across the United States.
Develop the AARC Geospatial Standards Manual and enterprise QA/QC program.
Guide capital investments in drones, LiDAR, GIS, AI, and reality‑capture technologies.
Work directly with executive leadership on acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and new service offerings.

Technical & Operational Leadership

Oversee complex drone, LiDAR, GIS, GPS/GNSS, and digital twin projects.
Personally supervise selected high‑profile Houston projects while delegating routine field work to internal staff.
Manage nationwide subcontractors and review technical deliverables.
Support Environmental, Engineering, AI Technologies, Tax Incentives, and Infrastructure business units.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Engineering, GIS, Geography, Remote Sensing, or related discipline.
FAA Part 107 certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
Leadership experience managing technical teams and subcontractors.
Experience with drones, LiDAR, GIS, GPS/GNSS, and project delivery.
Excellent business development and client relationship skills.

First Three-Year Vision

Launch AARC's national Geospatial Technologies practice.
Build a Houston geospatial operations team.
Implement AI‑enabled inspection and digital twin services.
Develop a significant recurring revenue stream serving all AARC business units.

Travel
Primarily within the Greater Houston area with limited overnight travel. National projects are primarily executed through AARC's Approved Geospatial Partner Network.
