Senior Editor – The COO Club

Full‑time, on‑site role based in Austin, TX, focused on building the COO Club into a trusted, community‑powered media brand for operations leaders and senior executives.
About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Editor to help define the voice, editorial strategy, contributor network, content formats, and audience experience for a new executive brand built on an existing audience foundation. This is an audience growth and editorial leadership role centered on creating decision‑support content that helps operations leaders make better decisions, build scalable systems, adopt AI‑enabled ways of working, drive organizational efficiency, and navigate modern executive leadership.
Responsibilities

Build engaged, community‑powered editorial experiences

– Create serious‑fun, expert‑driven editorial and audience experiences across articles, newsletters, social, video, podcasts, livestreams, events, and community formats. Assign, edit, write, and publish editorial content. Develop content based on practitioner insight, including interviews, surveys, and community listening. Program and support webinars, livestreams, roundtables, podcasts, and editorial events. Repurpose editorial IP into newsletter blocks, social content, video clips, reports, and community assets. Continuously identify opportunities to increase audience participation, contribution, sharing, and return engagement.

Create insight‑led decision‑support content

– Build and improve content that helps operations leaders and executives make better strategic, operational, AI, and organizational decisions. Assign, edit, write, optimize, and experiment with JTBD, workflow, systems, tools, and AI. Improve SEO‑driven and community‑driven content. Build topical authority and produce decision‑support formats such as tools/tech roundups, benchmark reports, State of AI reports, operational playbooks, expert interviews, surveys, member exclusives, and lead magnets. Use Marfeel, GA, HubSpot, and audience data to guide optimization and experimentation. Test headlines, hooks, formats, distribution strategies, CTAs, and conversion pathways.

Expand audience reach, relationships, and distribution

– Grow The COO Club through contributor relationships, strategic partnerships, distribution systems, and community engagement. Identify, recruit, and manage COOs, operations executives, operational SMEs, partners, and contributors. Package and distribute content across newsletter, social, search, podcast, video, community, partner, and digital PR channels. Collaborate on co‑created reports, research, surveys, multimedia initiatives, and strategic partnerships. Represent the brand at events, panels, podcasts, conferences, and external opportunities. Build and maintain reusable insight libraries and track performance based on subscriber growth and engagement.

Required Skillset

Strong editorial judgment and audience instincts
Experience creating B2B, practitioner‑led, or professional editorial content
Strong interviewing and synthesis skills
Ability to transform complex operational challenges into useful, engaging editorial experiences
Experience growing newsletter engagement, subscriber audiences, or community participation
Experience across multimedia formats – newsletters, social, video, podcasts, webinars, or events
Comfort using analytics and audience signals to guide experimentation and optimization
Experience collaborating with contributors, SMEs, and strategic partners
Understanding of SEO, distribution strategy, audience engagement, and AI discovery trends
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to operate with speed, experimentation discipline, and audience empathy
Nice to Haves

Experience covering operations leadership, organizational design, AI transformation, enterprise systems, workflow optimization, or executive decision‑making
Experience creating benchmark reports, surveys, or insight‑led content
Experience hosting or participating in podcasts, webinars, livestreams, or editorial events
Familiarity with modern operational tooling and enterprise systems ecosystems
Experience building community‑powered editorial systems or contributor networks
Salary and Benefits

Annual base salary range: $100,000 – $130,000 USD (for U.S. candidates at full‑time remote or on‑site). Salary determined by interview and review of education, experience, skills, and market data. Candidates outside the U.S. or with different seniority levels may receive varied ranges. Bonus and comprehensive benefits package also available.
