Must-Haves

10+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on land development

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution

Proven experience managing client relationships across the full project lifecycle

Experience preparing engineering proposals - scope, fee development, subconsultant coordination, and contracts

Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, change orders, and accounts receivable

Business development experience - identifying opportunities, pursuing new clients, and growing existing relationships

Nice to Have

Experience with public agency clients, pre-application meetings, and regulatory coordination

Familiarity with market intelligence, competitor tracking, and pursuit strategy

Experience mentoring mid- to senior-level engineering staff

Active involvement in professional organizations or industry events in the Colorado Springs market

What You'll Own
Client Relationship Management

Serve as the primary liaison between clients and production teams throughout the full project lifecycle

Proactively develop and maintain relationships with public and private clients, industry partners, and vendors

Support client retention by ensuring satisfaction and identifying future opportunities

Represent the Land Development group in internal marketing, strategic planning, and business development discussions

Business Development

Market the firm's full suite of services to new and existing clients

Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with strategic goals

Track quarterly marketing reports including proposal activity, active pursuits, and client connections

Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to sharpen pursuit strategies and improve win rates

Actively participate in professional organizations and industry events to strengthen market presence

Project and Proposal Management

Prepare engineering proposals including scope, fee, subconsultant coordination, schedules, and contracts

Guide project execution to ensure scope, performance standards, schedules, and quality expectations are met

Manage client expectations and proactively communicate and resolve scope changes, budget impacts, and schedule shifts

Prepare, negotiate, and issue change orders for additional services

Collaborate with the Project Accountant on accurate invoicing, accounts receivable, and collections

Team and Industry Engagement

Mentor and support the professional development of mid- to senior-level engineering team members

Maintain awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, public policy, and local regulations affecting land development

Conduct client research and market intelligence to stay ahead of upcoming project opportunities

Review and sign/seal engineering plans developed under your direction
