Job Description
The Production Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and optimized LNG production at the facility. This position is responsible for developing and managing short and long term production schedules that balance feed gas availability, equipment capabilities, storage limits, and commercial commitments. By analyzing plant performance and collaborating closely with operations, maintenance, process engineering, and commercial teams, the engineer helps maximize throughput while minimizing flaring, energy consumption, and operational losses.

A key function of the role is production accounting, which includes tracking and validating downtime events, quantifying production losses, maintaining accurate energy balances, and forecasting LNG and gas volumes to support commercial, financial, and regulatory reporting. The Senior Production Engineer provides the analytical foundation for operational decision making, identifies optimization opportunities, and ensures that production plans remain aligned with regulatory requirements, environmental constraints, and business objectives. This position ultimately supports stable, efficient plant operations and contributes to achieving the site's performance, reliability, and financial goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop daily, weekly, and monthly LNG production plans aligned with feed gas supply, LNG storage and shipping.

Optimize LNG output to reduce flaring and energy use.

Track and report production losses, downtime, and operational derates.

Maintain Loss Accounting System (LAS) and report revenue impacts to accounting.

Develop site‑wide energy balances and monitor energy KPIs.

Identify efficiency improvement opportunities.

Prepare production forecasts and validate against custody transfer data.

Submit monthly and quarterly reports to accounting and leadership.

Coordinate with control room, field ops, shipping, and maintenance planning.

Adjust schedules during equipment restrictions, weather, and supply changes.

Assist in the development of production budgets and targets.

Develop and update procedures and startup/shutdown plans.

Track the facility Chemical and Refrigerant requirements, by utilizing appropriate measures and tools to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the facility.

Additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time or the scope of the necessitation by business demands.

5% duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education

Required: Typically requires a 4‑year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Experience

Required: Typically requires 3 years LNG Production Engineer or related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Able to work with a culturally diverse group of technical individuals whose skills cover the range required to operate and maintain the operations of the Port Arthur Liquefaction facility.

Possess the ability to relate to and to establish a mutually respectful relationship with management, peers, and the various facility level workers who are all responsible for ensuring operational excellence.

Organized, planning skills, able to manage multiple activities and programs in timely fashion and with a high degree of accuracy, able to meet work deadlines.

Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.

Analytical thinking and ability to utilize concise data and information while working through problems and implementing solutions.

Strong ability to implement best practices for Production Engineering.

Knowledge and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, PPT, Visio to convey information with clarity through presentations and reports.

Ability to manage multiple and complex issues and work independently.

Proven personal characteristics of integrity, accountability, and dependability.

Ability to apply strong written and oral communication skills while presenting and participating in discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

Thorough understanding of LNG Process, maintenance, environmental, regulations, and associated codes and standards.

General knowledge of computer applications like PiVision, DCS systems, SCADA and ability to work with automated applications.

Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy.

Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 3 days per week onsite.
