Senior PHP SysOps Developer

We are seeking a PHP SysOps Engineer/Developer to support the development, scalability, and reliability of a high-performance platform in the Clinical Trials and Medical Meetings space. This role blends PHP application development with infrastructure, DevOps, and system reliability engineering.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain web applications using PHP, Symfony, and modern backend technologies.
Build new features, maintain existing functionality, and improve system performance.
Identify and implement modifications in existing services.
Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth interaction across system components.
Manage backend services and ensure efficient data interchange.
Troubleshoot and resolve application and infrastructure issues.
Deploy and refine software tools, processes, and metrics.
Maintain and upgrade existing systems to ensure reliability and performance.
Set up and maintain Kubernetes clusters for containerized deployments and scaling.
Implement load balancing, auto-scaling, and reliability best practices.
Administer Redis for caching and storage, ensuring performance and data integrity.
Configure and secure Linux-based servers.
Maintain infrastructure security including access control, encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT or equivalent experience.
5+ years of PHP experience (currently using PHP 8.x).
Strong proficiency with:
PHP, Symfony, Twig
Redis, MongoDB (sharding preferred)
Git, PHPUnit
Solid OOP principles and experience with Agile, TDD, and Scrum.
Experience with container orchestration, autoscaling, and distributed systems.
Understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, routing, firewalls).
Preferred: Experience with AWS , React , performance optimization, and security best practices.
Plus: Familiarity with HIPAA and EU data privacy guidelines.
