We are partnering with a leading organization in the power delivery industry that is expanding its transmission infrastructure team. This is an opportunity for an experienced Transmission Line Engineer to play a key role in the development and execution of high‑voltage transmission projects from early development through construction and operation.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in overhead/underground transmission line design, experience with PLS-CADD, and the ability to work across engineering, construction, and project development teams.
Responsibilities
Support the development and execution of high‑voltage transmission line projects throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide technical expertise for overhead/underground transmission line engineering, design, procurement, and construction activities.
Develop transmission line models using PLS-CADD and related Power Line Systems software to support engineering and project planning.
Evaluate routing, conductor selection, structure and foundation design, environmental constraints, and construction methodologies.
Develop scopes of work, technical specifications, and engineering requirements for project execution.
Support bid solicitations, review contractor proposals, and participate in contractor selection.
Manage engineering, procurement, and construction activities while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Review engineering packages, drawings, specifications, RFIs, change orders, and technical submittals.
Collaborate with project teams, consultants, contractors, and other disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
Support both greenfield transmission projects and upgrades to existing transmission infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
7+ years of experience within the power delivery or utility industry.
Strong background in overhead/underground high‑voltage transmission line engineering and design.
Experience using the Power Line Systems software suite, including PLS-CADD.
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
Experience working with engineering consultants, EPC contractors, or utility project teams.
Strong communication, organization, and project coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure.
Experience supporting both transmission line and substation projects.
Familiarity with transmission construction practices, procurement, and EPC project delivery.
