Job Summary
Designfusion is seeking a results‑driven and highly motivated Application Engineer to join our technical team. This technical role is responsible for supporting Siemens NX manufacturing solutions. The NX CAM Application Engineer role will support all aspects of programming lathes, 3 & 5‑axis milling machines, and mill/turn machines using NX CAM. You will assist the sales team in promoting and selling engineering and digital manufacturing solutions to manufacturing companies across multiple industries, focusing on building long‑term client relationships and driving new business opportunities. This position involves identifying customer needs, presenting tailored solutions, and delivering technical demonstrations to showcase the value of our advanced manufacturing software and services. You'll work closely with clients to provide exceptional support and guidance throughout the pre‑sales and post‑sales process, ensuring their success with our products and services.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Support: Work closely with the sales team to identify and address the unique challenges faced by manufacturing companies, offering tailored solutions from the Siemens Digital Industries Software portfolio. Uncover issues such as CAM programming inefficiencies, CNC machining challenges, high manufacturing costs, and extended lead times. Present advanced Siemens software and consulting services as innovative, cost‑effective solutions that improve efficiency, integrate seamlessly into existing workflows, and enhance productivity. Highlight how contracted services can bridge workforce gaps by providing skilled expertise and support, helping companies maintain a competitive edge in their industry.

Contract Services: Deliver comprehensive CAM‑related projects with a focus on maximizing customer satisfaction. These projects include CAM programming using NX CAM, customizations, and process automation. Provide training and mentoring in NX CAM 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis programming, as well as Turning and Mill‑Turn programming.

Technical Support: Offer technical support for Siemens NX software solutions, addressing client needs related to NX CAM, NX CAD, and NX licensing. Respond to support tickets promptly and professionally, ensuring a high standard of customer service.

Customer Relations and Collaboration: Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing pain points, ensuring satisfaction, and assisting the sales team in identifying new business opportunities. Work closely with the sales team to align customer requirements, set expectations, define project timelines, and deliver solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in machining and programming using Siemens NX CAM.

An associate degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Basic skills using Siemens NX CAD modeling for manufacturing purposes.

A strong understanding of 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis programming, as well as Turning and Mill‑Turn programming.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies and mechanical engineering processes.

Possess a strong familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design), FEA (Finite Element Analysis), and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software solutions.

Professional presence with strong communication and presentation skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Post‑processor development experience is a plus but not required.
