Summary objective of the job The Account Manager is responsible for expanding the customer base within a designated region, by growing business at existing customers and developing new ones. In order to excel in this role, you must possess an in-depth understanding of the assigned region. Your knowledge will be put to use as you promote our full range of products, both directly and through a network of distributors. The main objective is to develop new revenue opportunities with Non‑Automotive customers.
Region responsible for: New England, Eastern Canada
Job duties and responsibilities Create strategies and plans to develop sales in region and increase market share in line with company objectives.
New Business Development
Identifying and Qualifying Accounts
Using Tools from NMB Tech Stack to contact and Qualify Account and customer potential revenue
Identifying customer needs and pain points
Offering design solutions and recommending product or service enhancements to increase customer satisfaction and sales potential.
Relationship Development/External
Developing solid and long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers at customer companies
Developing solid and long‑term relationships with our Distributor Sales staff in Region
Reporting Communications Internal/External:
Management of all customer interactions in Salesforce
Customer communications
Opportunity Management
Responsible for establishing Fiscal Year AOP (Area Operating Plan) by knowing your region and customers thoroughly
Setting AOP for Midyear in July/August timeframe
Refresh to Next Fiscal Year AOP at Midyear in July/August timframe
Final submission for AOP for next Fiscal Year- December
Establish AOP for 2 years out- December
Effective time management for Account and Business Development
Employ a combination of virtual and in‑person communication tools and techniques to engage with prospects and customers throughout the sales process.
Collaborate with distribution partners to develop and execute sales strategies that align with company objectives and market trends.
Utilize tools made available along with support from product groups SME (Subject Matter Experts) to qualify accounts and highlight our Value Proposition
Perform other duties as related to the job function, as required.
Travel – Travel required up to 20% ; majority will be domestics with occasional international travel.
Job qualification requirements/competencies Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in territorial sales‑related roles, preferably with experience selling our products.
Demonstrated proficiency in efficiently managing a geographic territory.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Proficiency in Salesforce
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Thorough understanding of operating within a global matrix environment and cultivating effective relationships.
Preference will be given to candidates who have direct sales experience in the region, including distributor sales representatives, and have worked for electronic component manufacturers reps.
Candidates with existing residency in the region are preferred.
Supervisory requirements No supervisory experience is required.
Physical requirements A normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office, and ability to conduct a normal amount of work on a computer.
Salary At NMB, the pay band for this role is between $93,184.00 and $139,776.00 annually. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base pay is a part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range of the pay band process.
