Your role
Corporate Communications is charged with elevating, protecting and amplifying the reputation of UBS among internal and external audiences. To that end, Corporate Communications strives to position UBS as one of the world’s leading financial services providers, a recognized thought leader, a responsible corporate citizen, as well as an employer, business partner, vendor, and investment of choice. In addition, Corporate Communications informs employees on strategy, performance and execution, and drives employee engagement to support revenue growth of UBS business divisions. Corporate Communications programs are geared towards influencing UBS’s primary audiences.
We’re looking for somebody to:
develop and execute media strategy for UBS's Wealth Management Americas, Investment Bank and Asset Management businesses in the US, Canada and Latin America
oversee social media strategy and planning for UBS’s Americas social channels
build and foster strong relationships with members of the financial and industry trade press
counsel members of the Firm's Americas senior leadership team on messaging, reputational risk, issues and crisis media management
collaborate closely with colleagues in internal communications, investor relations, executive communications, community affairs, branding and business marketing to ensure consistency of messages to the Firm's external audiences
manage a high performing media relations and social media team and direct external agency resources

Your team
Reporting to the Americas Head of Communications, the Head of Media Relations will sit in NYC and serve as the Firm's Chief spokesperson in the Americas and lead a focused team of media relations officers in securing positive coverage that enhances UBS reputation in the financial services sector while minimizing and managing media around critical issues and negative events.
Your expertise
ideally 10+ years' experience in a communications role within a financial services firm, preferably with increasing levels of responsibility or complexity and with a very strong media relations component
proven ability to take initiatives, handle multiple projects simultaneously and have a critical eye for detail to ensure multiple deadlines are met
experience with crisis and issues management
knowledge of financial statements/reporting or investor relations is a plus
four-year university degree required
You are
able to lead and manage teams effectively and build networks across a diverse organization
a strong collaborator with the aptitude to work within a matrix structure
able to operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
a keen follower of media trends
comfortable with challenging the status quo

United States - New York - New York min USD 190000 - max USD 290000 /annum
