IBT Media is hiring: Audience Growth Lead in New York

THE ROLE
We're looking for a strategic Audience Growth Lead to serve as the primary architect of our audience expansion. You'll work at the intersection of data analytics and platform distribution — SEO, newsletter growth, and social — to ensure IBT reaches and retains readers across every channel. You'll work closely with the Editorial team to translate audience insight into action.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Audience Growth & Retention: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to drive consistent month-over-month growth in unique visitors and loyal readers.

Data & Analytics Ownership: Utilize analytics and business intelligence tools (GA4, Chartbeat, Exploding Topics, etc.) to identify high-performing content trends and guide the editorial team on traffic opportunities.

Multi-Platform Distribution: Drive SEO strategy, algorithmic discovery (Google News/Discover), and social media distribution to build a diversified, resilient traffic mix.

AI-Enabled Growth Tooling: Leverage automated and AI tools to optimize distribution and audience insight workflows.

Newsletter Ownership: Own the newsletter products end-to-end — content, voice, and subscriber growth/distribution strategy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Editorial team to ensure editorial priorities and growth strategy are aligned to maximize reach and increase retention.

REQUIREMENTS

Growth Track Record: Proven experience (3+ years preferred) in a digital news environment with a demonstrable history of growing audience.

Strategic Mindset: Deep understanding of the modern digital ecosystem, including AI, SEO, algorithmic discovery (Google News/Discover), and social distribution.

Data Fluency: Expert-level mastery of web analytics platforms (GA4, Chartbeat, or similar) with the ability to translate data into actionable editorial suggestions.

Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work hand-in-hand with journalists and editors who may not be data experts.

Tech Savvy: Fluency with automated and AI tools to drive efficiency and audience insights.

NICE TO HAVE

Vertical Context: Familiarity with the unique audience behaviors associated with business, finance, and technology news.

Global Scale: Experience scaling traffic for multi-site properties or international digital publications.
