About the Role
The Vice President of Medicare Marketing is a high-impact executive responsible for the overarching strategic vision and multi-year growth of the Medicare division. This leader manages a $200 million budget to generate 5 million annual leads while transforming SelectQuote’s marketing ecosystem into a digital-first, compliance-forward operation. The ideal candidate is a sophisticated general manager capable of “managing up” to the C‑suite, “out” to strategic partners, and “down” to high-performing internal teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drive Strategic Initiatives: Lead cross-functional, enterprise-wide initiatives, including the launch of new marketing channels, customer segmentation, customer journey optimization both digitally and call based, and drive the exploration of untapped market opportunities.
Digital Strategy Development: Architect and execute a comprehensive digital transformation strategy to diversify lead sources and move beyond current media dependencies in partnership with the Digital team and Channel leads.
Long-Range Planning: Define and own the multi-year strategic lead generation roadmap, ensuring it aligns with the broader corporate growth objectives of SelectQuote.
Full P&L Ownership: Manage the marketing P&L for the Medicare division with a relentless focus on maximizing enterprise ROI and profitability.
High-Level Stakeholder Management: Master the ability to manage up (communicating performance and strategy to senior leadership), manage across (driving partnership with internal cross-functional peers), and manage down (mentoring and coaching internal teams).
Executive Insights: Distill sophisticated analytical rigor into high-level presentations for the senior leadership team, “managing up” by providing data-backed recommendations for strategic growth and risk management.
Agile Optimization: Oversee the daily and intra-day optimization of marketing spend through the internal and external marketing team, ensuring sales operations and workflow management teams are synchronized with lead delivery.
Escalated Compliance Oversight: Serve as the final internal authority for Marketing Compliance, proactively resolving complex regulatory concerns and ensuring all creative assets meet internal and external standards.
Strategic Partner Management: Lead high-stakes negotiations and “tough conversations” with external media agencies and affiliate partners to ensure lead quality and financial commitments are met.
Competitive Market Analysis: Utilize a deep understanding of profit drivers to identify and exploit new lead sources and digital media strategies before they become industry standards.
Customer Segmentation and Consumer Profiling: Lead research, data science models to uncover pockets of high ROI and translate that into actionable and repeatable marketing strategy across all channels.

Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred).
12+ years of progressive management experience in a high-level leadership role managing multi-disciplinary teams, marketing or operations.
Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver against a budgeted P&L.
Proven experience as both a player and a coach – ability to execute while also leading and influencing others.

Physical Requirements
Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
