Full Stack Engineer

We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer for an emerging consumer technology company in New York City. This position is perfect for a developer who enjoys creating complete products, from frontend user interfaces to backend systems, data structures, analytics, and performance improvements. The responsibilities directly impact essential customer interactions, such as search functions, bookings, account management, and post-booking processes.
Responsibilities

Develop full-stack features for high-traffic consumer workflows
Create frontend interfaces, backend APIs, data models, and deployment strategies
Utilize React, Next.js, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Postgres, and MongoDB
Enhance API architecture, backend operations, performance, reliability, and scalability
Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, Platform, and Data teams
Enhance testing, monitoring, dashboards, alerts, tracing, and operational readiness
Establish reusable engineering practices to streamline development processes
Requirements

Minimum 4 years of full stack software development experience
Demonstrated expertise in building web applications for production environments
Proficiency in React, modern JavaScript / TypeScript
Background in backend development using Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or similar technologies
Experience with API design and database management
Ability to oversee features across frontend, backend, data, and analytics
Strong focus on product usability and user experience
Solid foundation in engineering principles, including code quality, testing, debugging, and reliability
Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with Next.js
Knowledge of Ruby on Rails
Familiarity with AWS services
Experience with Postgres or MongoDB
Proficiency in tools like Datadog, RSpec, Playwright, or similar for testing and monitoring
Degree in Computer Science or strong computer science background
Experience with consumer products, marketplace platforms, SaaS solutions, or fast-growing startups
Additional Information

Location: New York, NY
Schedule: onsite Monday-Thursday, remote work on Fridays
Salary: $160K to $180K base pay with equity incentives
Opportunity for relocation, but relocation support is not provided
