POSITION SUMMARY
The Social Media Manager is responsible for building and growing ProCaps Laboratories’ organic social media presence and supporting paid social execution across Instagram and Facebook. This is a foundational role — the first dedicated social hire — and is expected to establish content rhythms, community engagement practices, reporting frameworks, and the systems needed to scale ProCaps’ social channels over time.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on executor who writes well, understands brand voice, and can direct creative teams to produce content that performs. They are comfortable managing community engagement, reading performance data, creating content when needed, and coordinating closely with the DTC & Performance Marketing Manager on paid social execution. As the brand grows into TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, and LinkedIn, this person will help evaluate, prioritize, and lead that expansion.

WHAT YOU BRING (MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS)

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field

3‑6 years of experience in social media marketing with hands‑on channel management

Demonstrated experience growing an Instagram presence – organic and paid

Experience managing or supporting founder‑led, executive, practitioner, or personality‑driven social media accounts

Comfortable directing creative teams for content production

Strong community management skills with a customer‑first mindset

Analytical – able to read platform data and translate it into content decisions

Experience using social scheduling, analytics, or social media management platforms

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in nutraceuticals, supplements, functional food, wellness, or healthcare‑adjacent brands

Experience sourcing, briefing, and managing creators and/or UGC content

Familiarity with TikTok, Reddit community management, YouTube content strategy, or LinkedIn employer branding

Experience working in regulated industries with content compliance considerations

Familiarity with tools such as Meta Business Suite, Meta Ads Manager, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later, Canva, Google Analytics, or similar platforms

WHAT YOU’LL DO (ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES)
Organic Social — Instagram & Facebook

Own and manage the organic content calendar across Instagram and Facebook

Guide caption writing and creative assets while ensuring all content reflects the founder’s educational voice and brand standards

Direct the internal creative/videographer team for Reels, static posts, Stories, and campaign content

Create social content directly when needed, including copywriting, simple graphic creation, story content, and mobile‑first content capture

Manage community engagement — respond to DMs, comments, and mentions in a timely, on‑brand manner

Develop and maintain a consistent posting cadence with a mix of educational, promotional, and community‑driven content

Monitor social conversations, audience sentiment, competitor activity, and emerging wellness trends to identify content opportunities and customer insights

Paid Social Execution

Support the DTC & Performance Marketing Manager in executing paid social campaigns on Meta (Instagram and Facebook)

Propose paid social creative concepts and audience ideas informed by organic performance data

Monitor and report on paid social performance within platforms; surface insights to the DTC Manager

Ensure paid social creative is aligned with organic brand voice and content standards

Founder Content & Brand Voice

Maintain and apply the founder’s educational voice across all social content

Coordinate with the founder and creative team for periodic content shoots as founder‑led content programming develops

Support planning for future live sessions and long‑form founder content as this programming is built out

Help identify content opportunities that strengthen the founder’s authority, credibility, and audience engagement

Community Management & Compliance

Manage community interactions in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements

Escalate customer service issues, product complaints, medical questions, adverse events, and sensitive inquiries to the appropriate internal teams

Ensure all social media content complies with applicable FDA, FTC, platform, and company guidelines

Maintain brand‑safe community management practices across all social channels

Analytics & Reporting

Track and report on key organic metrics, including follower growth, engagement rate, reach, impressions, content output volume, and community response metrics

Monitor paid social performance and consolidate reporting for DTC Manager review

Use data to identify which content formats, topics, and cadences are driving results

Deliver a recurring social performance summary to the Director of Strategy

Provide recommendations based on performance data, audience behavior, and emerging platform trends

Social Operations & Process Development

Establish scalable workflows, content planning processes, reporting frameworks, and community management standards

Help evaluate and implement social media management, scheduling, listening, and reporting tools as needed

Build documentation and best practices that support future team growth and channel expansion

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner with the DTC & Performance Marketing Manager on paid social strategy, creative briefing, and performance reporting

Pull from the internal creative team’s asset library; brief and direct new asset production as needed

Loop into the Customer Care team for insights on common customer questions, feedback themes, and community sentiment to inform content

Platform Expansion (Future State)

Lead setup and launch of TikTok organic presence and support evaluation of TikTok Shop in coordination with the DTC & Performance Marketing Manager

Build a Reddit presence through organic community participation — engaging in relevant subreddits and positioning the brand as a trusted educational voice without overt promotion

Support YouTube channel buildout encompassing short‑form (Shorts, repurposed Reels) and long‑form educational content featuring the founder

Support LinkedIn employer brand presence in partnership with HR once cross‑functional ownership is established

Recommend prioritization, timing, and resource requirements for expansion into new social platforms

Bring platform knowledge and best practices to inform timing and approach for each new channel launch
