Technical Author (Aircraft Design & Documentation)

Pilatus is hiring a Technical Author to join our team in Broomfield, CO. In this role, you will support the engineering team in creating and editing technical documents for engineering design, certification, aircraft operation, training, and continuing airworthiness documentation for the PC-12 and PC-24 platforms. A successful individual in this role will possess excellent written communication skills, strong attention to detail, technical aptitude with CAD tools, and the ability to simplify complex information. What you do

Develops and maintains high-quality documentation, including engineering reports, product manuals, system architecture descriptions, and training documentations
Uses 2D/3D CAD tools to create digital rendering configurations and illustrations
Translates complex technical concepts into clear, accessible content for both technical and non‑technical audiences
Develops, modifies, and maintains aircraft continuing airworthiness documentation such as AFM, ICA, IPD, and service / modification instructions for aircraft completion projects
Defines and implements a scalable knowledge management strategy that integrates documentation, internal wikis, training materials, and customer support content
Curates and maintains internal knowledge bases for cross‑functional use, including onboarding guides, FAQs, and process documentation
What you bring

BS Degree in field of engineering with extensive experience in technical authoring or equivalent combination of education and experience
2-4 years of experience in aviation or related field required
Must be proficient in the use of Solid Edge with Siemens Teamcenter or comparable 2D/3D CAD suite
Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, MS Visio, and 3D rendering tools like SolidEdge Keyshot or similar; experience with Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint work sites strongly desired
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
Must meet the criteria of a U.S. person as defined under ITAR 22 CFR 120.62
