The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, breaking news environment, exercises strong editorial judgment, and understands how to create compelling television. The Line Producer is more than an executor—they are a key contributor to the editorial process who consistently generates ideas, identifies opportunities, and helps shape the day’s coverage. We are looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and eager to grow into expanded editorial and leadership responsibilities.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESBuild, maintain, and execute the rundown for the 10 AM hourManage live control room production and make real-time editorial decisions during breaking newsCollaborate with senior producers, bookers, and associate producers to develop daily coverageIdentify strong video, soundbites, graphics, and visual storytelling opportunitiesProduce guest segments, reporter hits, anchor discussions, and breaking news coverageCopy edit scripts, banners, and graphics to ensure accuracy, clarity, and strong storytellingMonitor multiple news sources and flag important developments throughout the dayParticipate in editorial meetings and contribute original story ideas and segment conceptsCommunicate clearly and effectively with talent, directors, and technical staff during live broadcastsAssist with social media and cross-platform content initiatives as neededHelp mentor junior producers and contribute to a collaborative team environmentWHAT YOU WILL NEEDBachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experiencePrior television and live control room experienceProven ability to make sound editorial decisions independently in a fast-paced news environmentStrong news judgment and passion for breaking news, politics, and current eventsExcellent writing, copy editing, and communication skillsAbility to remain calm and decisive under deadline pressureStrong organizational skills and attention to detailFamiliarity with iNews, Dalet, VIZ, and newsroom production workflowsAbility to identify compelling elements that elevate television storytellingDemonstrated curiosity about emerging technologies, audience trends, and new workflows that can enhance storytelling and newsroom efficiencyDesire to grow into larger editorial and leadership responsibilities#LI-KC1We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
