Experiential Graphic Designer II – CannonDesign

Full time, Immediate start. Remote / Telecommute available.

Location: Chicago office (salary range $56,795 – $70,948 per year).

About the Role
The Environmental Graphic Designer II is a creative professional who thrives on solving design challenges and creating extraordinary work. You will partner with architects, interior designers and clients across sectors, including commercial, healthcare and sports environments, to reimagine brand identities and transform concepts into immersive experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in all phases of the design process, from concept development to artwork production.

Translate client needs into compelling concepts that express mission and purpose.

Design and develop detailed solutions across all media types, including two‑ and three‑dimensional graphics, signage, exhibits and environmental graphics.

Support project execution from storyboard to final design, including camera‑ready artwork for fabrication.

Develop documentation and graphic programs such as wayfinding and signage systems, donor recognition programs and interpretive exhibits.

Prepare visualizations and mockups on digital models for proposed signage and graphic content.

Collaborate and communicate with the EGD team and broader project teams; actively participate in design critiques during team calls.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Architecture or related field.

Minimum 4 years of related experience.

Strong design portfolio with experience across multiple markets.

Excellent typography skills.

Robust communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to work in fast‑moving, complex project teams.

Demonstrated skill and interest in 3‑dimensional design, wayfinding, exhibition design and environmental graphics.

Hands‑on experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, preferably on Mac).

Knowledge of Revit and SketchUp is a plus.

Strong attention to detail; analytical and independent thinker.

Compensation & Benefits
