The Boston Globe is looking for an ambitious, urgent, and sophisticated journalist to join our Business team as an Enterprise Reporter.

We need someone who can execute a wide range of stories—from deeply‑reported narratives to quick‑hit investigations to smart, bright takes that explain what’s going on in our economy and key industries. Join our 18‑person Business department, partner with other corners of the newsroom, and craft long‑form stories on workplace culture, corporate accountability, and the future of downtown Boston. This role requires flexibility, collaboration, and the ability to work across platforms—video, audio, and newsletters.

Responsibilities

Produce a steady stream of high‑impact enterprise and narrative journalism.

Report and write business stories with authority, creativity, and sophistication.

Contribute to breaking news, daily coverage, and larger projects as needed.

Partner with visual and digital colleagues to create stories that reach readers across a variety of platforms.

Embrace alternative storytelling formats, including video, audio, and newsletters.

Qualifications

Five‑plus years of journalism experience at a major‑market publication.

Ability to write clean, compelling copy on deadline.

A skilled writer who can elevate good stories into great ones.

Flexible and enterprising, with a creative approach to storytelling.

A team player who works well in a group setting.

A willingness to adapt and be audience‑focused, with a curious mindset and a commitment to creating an inclusive work environment.

Bonus: data, investigative, or language skills.

Compensation
$74,911 – $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Location
The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines. This position is based in Boston, and candidates should be based in the area or be willing to move.

Union Information
This position is a union position covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the Boston Newspaper Guild.
