Job Description

We are looking for a

Senior Web Developer

to design, develop, test, implement, and support web and API-based software solutions for CAI clients. This position will be a

full-time contract

and

hybrid in Chicago, IL.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with a team of application specialists to support enterprise client applications

Develop and unit test REST web services and web-based solutions using HTTPS technologies

Utilize tools such as SOAP UI and Postman for API development, testing, and validation

Translate business requirements into technical solutions that align with established development standards

Create and maintain code documentation and technical design documentation

Develop both backend and frontend components for web-based applications

Resolve software defects in a timely and thorough manner

Participate in application and network performance tuning activities

Assess, prioritize, and triage issues based on business impact and urgency

Escalate issues to management when appropriate

Manage multiple priorities simultaneously while ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met

Participate in cross-training initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities across teams

Quickly learn new applications, technologies, and systems introduced into client environments

Promote teamwork, collaboration, and effective communication among CAI and client team members

Deliver high-quality, defect-free solutions that align with industry standards and application best practices

Analyze and assess vendor-released application upgrades and enhancements

What You'll Need

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Engineering, or a related field

7+ years of experience as a Programmer Analyst, Software Developer, IT Consultant, or similar role

Strong experience with Java

Strong experience with Angular 13

Strong experience with Spring Boot

Strong experience with Spring Data JPA

Strong experience with Spring Framework

Strong experience with Spring Security

Strong experience with Hibernate

Strong experience with Maven

Strong experience with Bootstrap

Strong experience with Oracle databases

Strong experience with JBoss

Experience using GitLab

Experience using SQL Developer and Toad

Experience using JIRA

Experience using JBoss Cruise Control

Experience using Eclipse

Experience developing and testing RESTful APIs and web services

Experience with SOAP UI and Postman

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong client-facing and customer service skills

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Sound decision-making skills with the ability to seek guidance when needed

Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team

Preferred:

Experience with payment processing systems

Experience with AWS cloud technologies

Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications

Experience with performance tuning and application optimization

Experience working in consulting or client services environments

Physical Demands

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$100 - $115 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
