Responsibilities
The Channel Sales Director (CSD)/Partner Director primary duties include driving new business to Shift4 through the prospecting and signing of new partners. The CSD is instrumental in devising and implementing the strategy for meeting sales performance targets and optimizing growth with each new partner. The CSD is the subject matter expert on all things pertaining to the Partnership. This is an individual contributor role.
- Actively prospecting, attending trade shows, conferences, on‑site meetings/visits, and hunting new strategic opportunities.
- Creating, negotiating and closing commercial agreements with new partners.
- Providing partners with a full understanding of Shift4 Schedule A, bonus opportunities and EMV device.
- Collaborating with API/Integrations team to assist new partners through integration and certification to Shift4.
- Preparing and executing a structured, planned agenda/meeting curriculum when presenting to partners via phone or on‑site.
- Training new and existing partners on Shift4 products, services and the sales process—including residual reporting, lead management and the submitting of new leads—to educate partners on Shift4 UTG and the installation/activation.
- Submitting documentation needed for Lab Request to ensure partners have been trained on installation.
- Identifying marketing opportunities through conversations with partners and implementing those plans to coincide with new partners.
- Updating and keeping accurate records in Salesforce on partner merchant base, integration type, interface, hardware supported and products.
- Demonstrating strong cross‑functional collaboration with sales, marketing, finance, customer care, product development and technology operations.
- Ensuring all documents, training, paperwork and other items are processed to complete the onboarding.
- Working closely to train the CSM on partner product, services, nuances, and expectations.
- Obtaining first two merchant leads from the partner and providing those to assigned individuals.
- Actively overseeing the launch of those two merchants from start to finish.
- Once a new partner has boarded five merchants successfully with Shift4, the CSD schedules a call with the CSM and partner to formally hand‑off the partner to the assigned individual.
- Scheduling and holding consistent meetings with the respective CSM on sales KPIs (e.g., growth, lead count conversion rates) and including them in correspondence to ISV's/dealers.
- Continuously working to achieve sales and revenue targets as set by the AVP and SVP of Channel.
- Providing directives and feedback to the CSM and marketing team on the success of sales.
- Timely addressing any service issues escalated to the CSD by the CSM and/or channel.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working in Channel Sales within the POS and Payments space.
- BA/BS preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in Salesforce and Monday.com preferred.
