Position Summary

The Regional President is a senior executive and the community ambassador for the Busey brand within the region. Directly leading commercial lending while working directly with wealth management sales teams, the Regional President is responsible for the profitability and growth of Commercial and Wealth management businesses within the region and works to ensure full collaboration and coordination between Commercial, Wealth and all other Busey activities. The Regional President also works closely with centralized areas such as Service Support to identify efficient and effective ways to deliver an excellent customer experience, ensuring risk management and compliance expectations are achieved within the region.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • With a focus on well‑capitalized business and individuals, the Regional President will generate revenue within the region leveraging the holistic growth/sales model as defined within centralized services.
  • Effectively communicating goals and objectives internally and externally so that customer satisfaction is maintained at high levels and the group/division business objectives are attained.
  • Maintaining high Associate Engagement and Customer Net Promoter Scores within region.
  • Identifying ways to enhance products and service delivery; collaborating with other regions and functional areas to develop and implement such improvements.
  • Actively engaging and showing leadership in the community through various networking events; attending various community events as a representative of the Bank.
  • Cultivating leadership and open communication within the region through calls, holistic sales team meetings, sharing of relevant information in order to enhance the standards of Service Excellence in order to anticipate and exceed the needs of our customers, both internal and external.
  • Directly managing Regional Commercial leaders; Wealth Management sales teams have an indirect reporting line to the Regional President.
  • Responsible for achieving the region’s financial revenue, expense, portfolio growth, regulatory compliance and risk management goals. This includes following global risk, credit and compliance parameters of the company as well as other corporate policies and expectations.
  • Responsible for management and risk reporting together with analysis for executive review and action.
  • Setting performance standards, managing workflow, granting authorities, evaluating performance, and recommending personnel actions within delegated authorities.
  • Promoting and facilitating frequent communications with Regional staff across all lines of business and support areas.
  • Managing associates through effective organization of resources and a sound planning process.
  • Providing consistent direction to enhance achievement of the bank and regional goals while encouraging and developing a marketing focus for the Region.
  • Responsible for the performance of the Commercial Loan and Deposit portfolios; developing new Commercial and Wealth business via client interaction with existing and prospective customers.

Education & Experience

Knowledge Of

  • Banking and lending strategies
  • Terms and conditions of federal lending laws
  • Retail, mortgage and community banking products and services
  • Treasury management products and offerings

  • Proven business development, marketing, and sales skills, with a demonstrated ability to turn a perceived problem into a sales opportunity.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and motivate associates to achieve a high level of customer service and satisfaction, as well as sales activity that meets and/or exceeds overall business objectives.
  • Develop new procedures and approaches to solve problems.
  • Make independent decisions for which there are not always precedents.
  • Take reasonable care to prevent loss to the organization.

Education And Training

Requires a 4‑year college degree in Finance, Economics or Business Management. Requires 7 or more years of lending, credit and leadership experience. Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Compensation And Benefits

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance. (Base Pay Range: $305,000 - $370,000 annually)
