Description

Under general supervision oversees the day to day operations of the City of Gulf Shores Rental Facilities. . Performs technical tasks to insure the proper operations of the systems within the Program and Events Division. Maintains and insures operations of the sound and lighting systems. Performs related tasks including public relations, customer assistance, and assisting with event planning, and facility maintenance.
Essential Job Functions

Oversees the technical operations of the rental facilities of the City. Acts as the events manager at the all rental facilities during various events; greets renters; insures compliance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures involving facility use. Ensures facility is in top working order and appearance.

Schedules, performs and supervises work and maintenance at the rental facilities of the City of Gulf Shores. This includes setups, breakdowns per rental agreements or per the direction of the Rental Supervisor. Supervises employees to execute the above description as needed.

Performs tasks to insure the proper operations of the sound and lighting systems at all City facilities as directed; assists with set-up, operation, maintenance, and take-down; oversees programs and events facility workers.

Provides assistance with various event planning activities; reviews contracts and provides recommendations regarding equipment needs; prepares bids involving rental equipment; interacts with the performers and their technical staff ensuring that equipment and other needs are met.

Assists in the development and monitoring of the Center's budget.
Assists and sets up equipment for program and events division.
Minimum Qualifications Required

Education and Experience:
High School Education or equivalent and vocational or technical school training in the operation of theatrical sound and lighting equipment; and
Four to five years of experience; or
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Licenses and Certifications:
Necessary-

Valid Driver's License
Desirable-

Stagehand Certification

Part-time employees who work thirty (30) hours per week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in the City medical insurance program the same as the 40-hour employees.
