Location: NYC - hybrid, 3x a week
Company: global digital transformation agency and IT consulting firm partnering with companies to build custom digital products, optimize customer experiences, and implement AI and data solutions.
Salary: $190K - $250K base
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
Hands-on experience using AI tools (ie. ChatGPT, Midjourney, Claude) with a proven track record of integrating AI into the design process or workflows
Strong excitement around building and exploring creative work using AI-enabled tools and systems

Role Overview

We're looking for a Digital Experience Designer who thrives at the intersection of design, technology, and emerging AI tools. This role is not just about crafting interfacesit's about concepting new digital experiences and bringing them to life alongside engineers through rapid prototyping and experimentation.
The ideal candidate embraces AI-native design workflows, thinks in systems and behaviors rather than static screens, and collaborates closely with engineers to build interactive prototypes that evolve into real products. Whether mapping a product journey, prototyping new interaction models, or exploring what AI-enabled interfaces can become, you'll bring a clear perspective on how technology can unlock better experiences for people and brands.
You will help define how modern digital experiences are conceived and built in a world where designers increasingly operate as co-creators with AI and engineering.
What You'll Do

Concept and Design Next-Gen Digital Experiences

Translate product ideas and emerging technologies into novel interaction concepts
Explore how AI, automation, and new interface patterns reshape digital experiences
Work early in the product lifecycle to define experience direction and interaction models
Design Through Prototypes

Move beyond static mockups toward interactive prototypes and functional design artifacts
Rapidly iterate using modern tools (Figma, Framer, AI design tools, prototyping frameworks)
Collaborate Deeply with Engineering

Partner with engineers to design through code
Co-create experiences that blend design thinking with technical feasibility
Use prototyping and experimentation to shorten the design ? build loop
Leverage AI in the Design Process

Integrate emerging AI design tools and workflows into concept development
Explore AI-enabled interfaces and product capabilities and help the team develop AI-native design practices
Shape the Service / Product Experience

Translate user needs and business goals into clear experience strategies
Contribute to product thinking and roadmap discussions and help define how the product evolves as a system, not just a set of screens
What We're Looking For

Core Design Skills

Experience creating mockups, flows, and interactive prototypes
Comfort designing complex interaction patterns and product behaviors
Engineer Collaboration

Experience working side-by-side with engineers
Familiarity with design systems, front-end constraints, and technical workflows
Ability to design solutions that translate cleanly into implementation
AI-Native Mindset

Curiosity about AI tools shaping design workflows
Interest in AI-driven user experiences
Modern Design Thinking

Ability to work in fast, iterative environments
Strong communication and storytelling around ideas
You Bring

7+ years of experience in UX, product, service, or interaction design
A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful design work and strong problem-solving
Mastery of tools like Figma, Miro, and modern prototyping platforms
Strong prototyping skills and the ability to bring ideas to life quickly
Experience working closely with engineers in product teams
Hands-on experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway, ElevenLabs, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or your own custom workflows
A track record of incorporating AI into the design process (ideation, prototyping, testing, automation, or tooling)
A solid understanding of interaction design, accessibility, and inclusive design principles
A desire to contribute to the growth and culture of a progressive, multidisciplinary team
