Director of Football Operations
Staff position responsible for the overall internal day‑to‑day operations of Villanova University’s Division I FCS football program. The Director supports student‑athletes, coaches, and staff in all aspects of program development and compliance with NCAA, conference, and university regulations.

Duties And Responsibilities
Office Operations

Manage all travel plans and logistics for the football program, including ground transportation, air travel, hotels, and meals.

Primary football office representative with Athletics Facilities and Operations regarding scheduling practices and events; coordinate game‑day activities and attend all game‑management meetings.

Assist football staff with daily tasks (study hall, office supplies, athlete transportation).

Take notes at staff meetings and circulate minutes.

Coordinate with the Athletics Student‑Athlete Development team to plan and schedule community service activities.

Plan and organize training‑table meals, working closely with University Dining Services and Oakview Group.

Administrative, Staffing & Compliance Support

Maintain NCAA compliance forms and ensure timely submission of deadlines.

Keep contact information for student‑athletes, parents, alumni, and donors up to date.

Support compliance with university policies and procedures.

Assist in recruiting and onboarding new staff, including orientation support.

Financial & Business Office Support

Submit budget requests through ARMS and reconcile expenses for team meals, travel, and recruiting.

Approve and reconcile all invoices for football office expenditures.

Support responsible use of department funds.

Special Events (Recruiting, Banquets, etc.)

Manage and coordinate all aspects of special events such as the annual football banquet, Lou Ferry Golf Outing, and Senior Day activities.

Organize logistics for recruiting weekends and official visits.

Promote and assist with on‑campus bone marrow drive.

Serve as liaison with Team Impact to ensure a positive experience for team members.

Marketing, Promotions & Media Relations

Collaborate with Athletics Marketing to manage the brand and game‑day atmosphere.

Support Athletics social media and marketing team to establish a consistent brand presence; manage coach and team social media accounts.

Attend marketing meetings, share outcomes with football staff.

Work with Athletics Communications to maintain the program’s web presence.

Other

Perform additional duties and assist with projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Two (2) years of experience in a collegiate sports program, preferably football.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Attention to detail and collaborative work style.

Familiarity with travel logistics, basic budgeting, NCAA rules, and school policies.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a football office.

Travel logistics experience for teams.

Knowledge of university policies and compliance in higher education.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

Professional office environment.

Evening and weekend hours required.

Travel required.

Compensation

Salary grade 14; range $61,100–$64,500.

Salary determined by qualifications, budget, market data, and equity.
