Office of Administration, Division of Accounting (OA-DOA) seeks a qualified professional for the Financial Services Unit. We are looking for a proactive team player who can apply critical thinking and problem solving to assist State Agencies and vendors with questions, inquiries, and processes regarding the State Financial System. The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in the paycheck. A pay differential does not raise the base pay.

Responsibilities

Audit Vendor/ACH‑EFT applications for accuracy.

Process bank reports.

Reconcile various reports.

Initiate, process, and review check cancelation documents.

Serve on the SAMII Agency Help Desk – provide State Agencies with assistance regarding the state financial system.

Review accounts receivable customer files.

Assist with 1099 processing for OA‑DOA.

Provide assistance to State Agencies and vendors with inquiries, processes and questions regarding MissouriBUYS.

Assist with MissouriBUYS supplier file set‑up and maintenance.

Assist with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Working knowledge of the SAM II Financial System and MissouriBUYS.

Knowledge of banking standards in relation to electronic fund transfers (EFT) and automated clearing house (ACH).

Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel is desired, but not required.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the unit and with other OA divisions.

Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices and ability to apply them to varied accounting transactions.

Two or more years of financial experience with a governmental agency or a private sector accounting, finance or brokerage firm; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.

Alternative Educational Requirement

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in accounting (business or governmental accounting experience above entry level involving the maintenance or recording of financial data may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis for deficiencies in the required college education).

Lack of post‑secondary education will not be used as the sole basis for denying consideration to any applicant.

Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate's name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.

Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite of employment. The Office of Administration will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
