About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President, Content Acquisitions Legal to lead its legal team in providing expert guidance on content acquisition and partnership matters. The successful candidate will be a seasoned attorney with a background in entertainment, media, advertising, or technology, and will be responsible for overseeing a team of four attorneys. This role demands a strategic leader who can offer legal advice, assess risks, and manage partnerships within the content acquisitions and partnerships business team. The VP will also be expected to work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product, and finance, and to collaborate with legal experts on a range of content-related issues.

Applicants must have a JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school, be admitted to the state bar in at least one U.S. state, and have a minimum of 15 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a management role. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in negotiating and drafting content acquisition and distribution agreements, a strong understanding of digital rights management issues, and excellent relationship management skills. The role requires an individual with a strong executive presence, the ability to balance legal protections with business needs, and a talent for managing multiple complex legal transactions. The VP will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and to drive the team towards best practices and practical solutions in content negotiations.
