University of Iowa is hiring: Business Communication Grader in Iowa City

Business Communication Grader The Frank Business Communication Center in the Tippie College of Business is seeking a part‑time grader for the 2026‑2027 academic year for the course BUS:3000 Business Communication and Professionalism. The grader will assist one of the Frank Center’s full‑time BUS:3000 instructors in assessing undergraduates’ written and visual assignments for the course.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPECIFIC JOB TASKS Meet with BUS:3000 instructor as needed to establish grading norms and turnaround times for assessments.
Read and provide constructive feedback on assignments for four sections of 28 students each.
In consultation with the instructor, write feedback on and assign letter or number grades to students’ work.
Respond to instructor emails within 48 business hours.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to complete quality work based on a pre‑determined schedule.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree preferred.
Experience in data visualization and slide design.
Previous teaching experience.
Work Schedule Flexible work hours.
Anticipated 200–250 hours of work over the course of the semester. Will vary from week to week.
Compensation is $24/hour.
