About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Advertising Communications to lead strategic external communications across its sports, entertainment, and global addressable portfolio. This executive will be instrumental in shaping and advancing key narratives that reflect the complexity and scale of the advertising business. The role involves close partnership with ad sales leadership, ESPN, corporate communications, and international teams to ensure alignment and consistency in high-visibility communications. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing integrated communication strategies, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, and driving proactive media engagement. Additionally, the role includes overseeing communications for various initiatives, such as product launches, measurement innovation, and global marketplace initiatives, as well as leading issues management and crisis communications.
Applicants for the Vice President, Advertising Communications role at the company should have a minimum of 12 years' experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, with a proven track record in leading external communications within a complex, matrixed organization. The ideal candidate will have strong writing, editorial, and strategic communication skills, and the ability to translate complex business strategies into clear messaging. Experience in advertising, ad tech, media, sports, and entertainment is preferred, as is a background in global markets and cross-regional communications. The role requires the ability to partner effectively across corporate, product, and regional teams, and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is also a basic qualification.
